Mobile Deposit

Deposit your checks quickly and easily from the convenience of your mobile phone or tablet anytime, anywhere with our Mobile Deposit feature.

Mobile Deposit is a free service that allows you to take a photo of your check and deposit it securely into your account using your "smart" (internet-enabled) mobile device via our free mobile banking app. To access our app, simply download it from your device's appropriate app store. (Note: You must be an Avadian online banking user to access mobile banking.* If you're not an online banking user, click here to learn more, including how to sign up.)

How It Works
Mobile Deposit is easy to use. After you download our mobile banking app and sign on using your Online Banking username and password, you will have the option to click "Mobile Deposit".** Upon your first use, you will be presented with the Terms and Conditions. Once you agree, you will be able to make your deposit via the following steps:

Step 1: Choose an account to make your deposit. There will be a drop down list of valid accounts for you to select from.
Step 2: Enter the amount of the check.
Step 3: Endorse the check in the proper location on the back with the following words: "For Deposit Only to Avadian, Account # _______".
Step 4: Select "Tap here to take picture of front of check". Then select "Tap here to take picture of back of check".
Step 5: Review your deposit and tap the "Submit" button to deposit the check. (After confirmation of our acceptance of your check, be sure to mark the check "Processed" or "Scanned".)  

It's that simple! (Please note: Mobile Deposit is currently not available for business accounts.)

Helpful Tips

  • Taking the picture - Place check down on a flat, well-lit surface clear of any objects or clutter to prevent shadows or poor image quality. Indirect light is best. Use a solid-colored surface that contrasts with the color of your check. Use the guidelines in our photo finder to help with zoom and scale. Make sure the entire check appears in the guidelines and fills the guidelines as much as possible. Keep hands clear while taking the picture.

  • Endorsing the check - The back of your check must include the payee's signature. If the back of the check is not properly endorsed, we reserve the right to reject the check for deposit. You should add the words "For Mobile Deposit Only" or "Electronically Deposited" for record-keeping or tracking purposes.

  • Retain your check for 30 days after you make a mobile deposit in case there are any questions or issues. Shred it after this time.

  • Holds - With Mobile Deposit, you will have up to $200 of your total day's deposit(s) immediately available to you. Anything over this amount is placed on at least a two business day hold and will be made available to you after that time. If you submitted your deposit(s) after 7:00 p.m., please note an additional business day is added to your hold.

  • Errors - We will notify you by email if there was an adjustment made to your deposit due to an error in the amount entered and the amount actually shown on your check image. For all other errors, Mobile Deposit will automatically "reject" your deposit while you're trying to process it, so there's no question as to whether you submitted it correctly.

  • History - Mobile Deposit holds up to 30 days of history. Checks deposited through Mobile Deposit will immediately show in your regular account transaction history feed. (Note: You will not be able to view images of checks deposited via mobile deposit on online banking. You will only be able to view the check information. You can view images within the app when you click on "History".)

Please note: Not everyone is eligible for Mobile Deposit. There are several requirements. When you first access this feature on our app, a pop up box will let you know if you're not eligible. You must be at least 16 years old. Members between the ages of 16 and 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the Parent or Guardian Authorization Form to have access. Deposit amount limits are based on account relationship.
